*2014 Program Objectives
Upon completing the Bachelor of Arts in History program, the graduates must have acquired the following values and competencies:
- spirit of social responsibility, good citizenship, nationalism and internationalism;
- awareness, appreciation and preservation of both national and global historical and cultural heritage;
- knowledge on the major philosophies, theories and perspectives in history, especially as their application to the Philippine context;
- knowledge and skills employed in undertaking research using the established methods of the discipline;
- skills needed in historical analysis, more particularly the ability to examine evidence, draw interpretations and analyze research data;
- capability to translate research into a scholarly and reliable written work;
- understanding of the interactions of historical patterns and their impact in national and global setting; and,
- Familiarity with the skills of other related social science

- To produce graduates who are imbued with the spirit of nationalism and internationalism;
- To provide a sound theoretical foundation of history couples with an adequate training in research and teaching
- To promote awareness of both national and global historical and cultural heritage; and,
- To appreciate the lives, works, and contributions of Filipinos and the people of the world.
