BRIEF HISTORY OF GAWAD KALATAS

Gawad Kalatas was born when the incumbent officers of the PUPSMK of the Academic Year 2010-2011 through the leadership of Mr. Jerome Permejo and the advisorship of Prof. Mc Donald Pascual thought of giving a recognition to people who showed exemplary dedication and remarkable achievement in historical and cultural pursuits.  On November 17, 2010, the First Gawad Kalatas was launched in a modest ceremony at the South Wing Bridge with Dr. Amalia C. Rosales and two BA History alumni as first awardees.

The holding of the 2010 Gawad Kalatas opened a breakthrough to PUPSMK for it gave way to the acquisition of pieces of audio-visual equipment that it used in its succeeding activities.
